In addition to the value individual members of First Lutheran place on personal prayer, the congregation also has three formal programs for prayer:

  1. Through the Prayer Chain, eighteen people currently offer intercessory prayers for the needs of church members, friends, visitors, and their loved ones. Prayer requests are made through calls to the church office and on the back of the Sunday worship attendance card. For more information, contact Delores Praefke (619-264-0808).

  2. During the Prayers of the Church, part of Sunday worship, the congregation prays for people on the Prayer List, and for the church and for the whole world.
