We are overjoyed and deeply humbled to announce the successful conclusion of the Magnifying Christ’s Light capital appeal at First Lutheran Church. Through the faithful generosity of our congregation and extended community, we have raised a remarkable $496,638 in total gifts and pledges, surpassing our goal of $450,000.
This total includes 47 pledges from members, $6,800 in one-time gifts from friends of the church, and a number of significant lead gifts received in the months leading up to the official appeal. Already, $240,000 of this total has been received, allowing us to begin planning and implementing much-needed improvements to our church facilities.
Thanks to your support, these funds will make possible several transformative projects, including:
A new roof to ensure long-term structural integrity
An energy-efficient HVAC system to improve comfort and reduce environmental impact
Solar panels to steward God’s creation through sustainable energy
Upgrades to sanctuary streaming technology, making worship more accessible to all
Enhanced lighting and sound systems in the lobby for art displays and forum presentations
New sacristy cabinetry to make storage and access more efficient
Tower cleaning, painting, and lighting to magnify Christ's light
New banners to minister to our community
Landscaping improvements that will beautify our grounds and create a more welcoming and protected environment
This appeal was not only a financial campaign but a spiritual journey—an opportunity to reflect on how we, as a community, can magnify Christ’s light in the world. We are filled with gratitude for the faith, trust, and commitment shown throughout this process. We especially thank our appeal consultant, Renee LiaBraaten, whose wisdom, patience, and ledership paved the way. Our steering also committee gave countless hours of their time and talents to carry out the campaign.
Thank you to all who pledged, gave, prayed, and shared in this vision. Your support is building more than a better church facility—it is helping us fulfill our mission to be the heart of Christ in the heart of the city.
